Ashley and Gaby surprised their friends and family by getting married on a yacht in the Tampa Bay. What could be more iconic than that? Spending the weekend with this incredible couple and their guests was such an honor, I wish I could do it every weekend!

When Ashley and Gaby first came to me, they mentioned that their wedding would be a surprise, so I kept it hush on social media. When the weekend finally arrived, their closest friends and family arrived at the Rod and Reel Resort on Anna Maria Island to celebrate what they thought was Ashley and Gaby’s joint bachelorette party. But just as the party started to kick off, they announced to everyone that this was actually their wedding weekend, and that they would be getting married tomorrow! Needless to say, everyone freaked out! It was so much fun to experience that moment with them, and to have been in on the surprise for over a year.

Then it was here: the wedding day! When I arrived back at  the Rod and Reel Resort that next morning, everyone was buzzing with excitement. Ashley and Gaby had an emotional first look on the rooftop terrace overlooking the gulf waters, and it all finally started to feel real. We then headed up to the Tampa Bay to board the Yacht Starship, where their ceremony and reception would be taking place (complete with a pride flag, proudly waving on the bow of the ship). The boat took off from the port just as Ashley started walking down the aisle, and there was hardly a dry eye around. As soon as they were pronounced married everyone erupted in cheers, ribbons flying in the wind, and the boat’s horn blared over Shania Twain as they walked back down the aisle. Pretty sure they could hear us all the way in Tampa!

The rest of the evening was full of good food and drinks, heartfelt toasts, and the liveliest dancing I’ve ever seen on a boat. Ashley and Gaby, thank you again for trusting me to capture your incredible wedding weekend!
